Owensboro Parent Night

October is a busy time for Bonnie Nicks and The Learning Center staff. As part of National Dyslexia Awareness Month, The Learning Center facilitates several Experience Dyslexia simulations and presentations in Bowling Green and the surrounding areas. On Wednesday, October 19th, Ms. Nicks brought the presentation to parents in Owensboro, KY.

Hosted at St. Mary of the Woods Church, the parent turnout met full capacity. Lively discussion took place throughout the presentation, with several parents commenting on the personal connections made to their own dyslexia journeys. One parent expressed appreciation at the relatability of the event in a follow-up email: "Thanks for speaking at our school. I got to laughing at some of things you said. It reminded me so much of my son and our situation."

During the closing remarks of the presentation, another parent stood up to share his story. He attested to the success of The Learning Center curriculum, explaining that after being tested and assisted by Ms. Nicks 9 years ago, his daughter is now an A/B student in high school. He expressed gratitude and commented on the effectiveness of his daughter's program: "What The Learning Center offers works. It is worth every penny regardless of the sacrifice required. We have no idea where we would be today had someone not led us to The Learning Center."

The Learning Center is located in Bowling Green, KY, with a satellite location in Russellville, KY.
